King Geor sat silently in the large hall, waiting patiently for the Lord of Yeirh to come back inside from the outer room. They had business to attend to, important life changing business. The Lord of Yeirh was a very stubborn man who had not desire to corporate with King Geor, he never had. King Geor tapped his fingers on the arm rest of his chair before slamming his fist down onto the table in front of him, in aggravation. "Where is he?" he grumbled to himself.
The Lord of Yeirh was pacing frantically, his mind was unnerved by what King Geor was requesting. The Power was hidden well, no one but the Highest Lords of Reldum knew where it was hidden. He lifted his hand to his face and stroked his long, black beard. This was a dilemma, far beyond anything he had ever been put up against. The Dark Power was real, that was true, but it had not been active in many years. If the Power was set free to destroy the Dark Power and it truly had not been active once more than all hope of protection was gone. "I must tell him." the Lord of Yeirh said reassuringly. "It is the right thing to do." He walked to the door and opened it quickly, walking inside to rejoin King Geor.
King Geor was surprised by the Lord of Yeirh's fast pace as he walked across the hall and rejoined him in the empty seat facing the King. "What is your decision?" King Geor asked him as he took his seat.
"The Power is safe and you have nothing to worry about. It must stay where it is." the Lord of Yeirh told him sternly. "I do not feel that it would be wise to give you the Power until a threat is clearly shown. The Power must not be used until such time."
"But there is a threat! Reldum is in danger. The Dark Power has just possessed three of my men, causing them to set themselves of fire, burning a message in my royal food fields." The Lord of Yeirh moved about uncomfortably.
"What was the message?" he asked the King.
King Geor stood up and glared down at the man in front of him. "Will it make any difference in what you decide with the Power?" he asked.
"No." the Lord of Yeirh told him rebelliously.
King Geor turned from the Lord of Yeirh and walked to the great wooden doors that led to the main corridor of the Palace of Yeirh. He grasped the large handle of the door and pulled it toward himself, revealing a large marble corridor. He turned back to the Lord of Yeirh and said, "Reldum is at an end. Death is coming. No Power can stop us now?" He exited the room and walked out into the corridor, leaving the Lord of Yeirh speechless.
"The Dark Power can not have returned!"
